Life is beautiful. Not because the way people live, but because it is a gift!

31st January...huh...times flies by. It is already a month since we 'prayed-in' the New Year, and had fire-crackers fly 'everywhere' making the sky lite up beautifully. The sound was probably what the kids and youngsters enjoyed the most! While some found it more amusing to look up in the colorful sparkle-lite sky!The start of the new year, is exciting! Makes one wonder; what is ahead this year! Certain things we sort of know, and then we have sudden surprises added inbetween;)One thing is for sure; God is good. He is faithful, and He is always faithful, and loving and....oh...He is SO many 'things'...He is ALL! Will have some pictures added on for you later. Wow. It is Christmas soon. The days goes by so fast, it seems. Days go, days come! The year that is behind us seems to have 'flown' away :). A new year is on the door-step. It's going to be exciting to venture into it!

On 23rd August we had a Medical Camp in Raj Nagar Slum. The Camp was held at the Day Care Centre. About 30 patients from the slum came for treatment.

Do you know this song? It is a song that put a smile on our faces because of the incredible Joy it is that our heart contains ('consists' of and 'exist' because of) such a treasure; Jesus!

He is a treasure. 'The Kingdom of God' is a treasure, and it is within those who opens up the heart and let Him in, and let Him stay! And let Him be King of the Palace/Temple within us; Our Hearts.

Life is good, because God is good! He is amazing and we are all doing good because of His 'amazing grace'! (that song is so beautiful!)

Stephan is now in 1st standard! A big boy who loves to play and enjoys quiet a bit of 'action'; either it is with his friends at school, at Din Bandhu or in the colony where we live :)

Life is Good! Because HE is good!

Just some 'on the latest- family updates:)

Summer vacation is over, and Stephan is back at school. Summer was hot, but still we were able to enjoy; Stephan went for swimming and tennis-classes. Apart from that Stephans Dadi (Suhas' mom) came to visit and we enjoyed her company lots! Stephan even made her play tennis and cricket with him. We also had a chance to go for a couple of small trips out of town, which was really nice! School-holidays came to an end, and Stephan was excited to wear his new school-uniform and to meet his school-friends again, after long. Now he is not smallest at school anymore as he started 1st standard.

Hi!

Rain is on it's way...we are waiting for monsoon to start. Probably a few more days to go, but : The temperature has dropped today and it feels SO nice. Kids are playing outside without needing to be scared of 'heat-stroke' :)

I will try to send some pictures. Let's see if I have 'luck' today?....

Yeah, it worked!!! On the picture you see some of the children at the Day Care Center in the slum. They have gotten new slates (small blackboards)and are excited to use them!

‘Fun night’ for slum children!

The pictures below is from a ‘fun night’ at Din Bandhu. More than 50 children from a nearby slum enjoyed themselves ‘like anything’; playing games, singing songs, getting a new outfit, a gift. The evening was ended with a good meal and at last a cartoon.

hm....having problem downloading the pictures. Bummer! I would love to have the pictures on the blog. The kids are just so adorable!!!

Spring...Summer...

Wo-ow...it is getting hotter here day by day, still the real heat is not 'on', by far.

Nagpur is famously known as 'orange-city', though one would be tempted to call it 'the desert'...as itis 'strategically' located in the middle of India and far from the ocean and beaches.But we do have some lakes and pools to cool of in :) when the temperature soar.

In spite the heat, the work is still going on. We are really excited about the way the work is growing, and for the help that we are able to give to the people in great need. Thanks to you too, for helping us help!

Keep checking in on the site, and we will have some 'fresh' pictures up soon. I hope; that means; if the speed on the 'net' allows me too... :)

Long time without any posting;)
We are doing good, what about you?
It is getting colder here now. The rainy season is over and soon it'll be winter. Have pulled out long-sleeves sweaters and scarfs. Todays temperature : max 29 C, min 18 C (Fahrenheit? woops...gives you some calculation to do:?)

As you can see from the pictures, yesterday was a very colorful day for us! :)

Stephan is a joyful boy full of life and energy! He is going to school/KG1, and is now learning how to write and read both Hindi and english. He is doing good at school, and enjoys!

Stephan Rockin'! His favourite song ; 'Yeshu tera nam, sabse uncha hai' ( Jesus your name is above all). He sings this song everywhere...in the schoolbus, in the care, while outside playing, while shopping... :)

One of our workers, Vandana Bhagade has been working with Din Bandhu Nagpur for several years. She has faithfully been going for work on a small old moped that always broke down. In spite of her mopeds poor condition she never gave up going to the places to serve and work.

Now she has gotten a brand new scooter, thanks to Orion and Ruth Ruckle who has blessed Din Bandhu Nagpur with the finance towards a bike!

We are doing good!
Summer and heat is over. Now it is monsoon, and we get bathed and showered in rain.
Stephan enjoys running off into the puds…He is a huge fan of umbrellas and points out their colours while counting how many he can see.
Stephan turned 2 in June and is a very talkative and active toddler! Still we haven’t gotten into our new home….but now that the transformer has being put up we dare to believe it won’t take to many more weeks/months before it gets charged and lit up the community with light! J.

We had a great time of worship and sharing in the Church on Easter in all the locations in the areas of Nagpur.

On Good-Friday a picture of Jesus was put in the newspaper. On the picture he was holding a sigarette in one hand and a winebottle in the other hand. This was very offending to many of the believers in the city. Many believers got frustrated and wanted ‘justice’.
The city-pastors gathered regarding the matter, and has now formed an economical forum for the purpose of standing together against any kind of opposition or persecution in the future.

The editor of the newspaper came with an official and public apology as a result to our united prayer.

Gathered together and headed off to a park for a picnic day. We had great-fun taking time away from work and just enjoying ourselves. The kids loved it, and some even cried (read stephanJ ) by the time of having to leave the playground. It was a nice get-together and encouraging time of fellowship.

FESTIVALS

This time of the year people celebrate lots.
A lot of hindu-festivals are going on, like Dussera, and Diwali. Diwali is the festival of lights, where the godess Laksmi (godess of prosperity) is being worshipped. People put lights around their houses and decorate their shops with lights. From history this is done to welcome the godess Laksmi into their homes and shops and she will bring blessings and prosperity upon homes and businesses. There is a belief in the people that if they don’t decorate in this way Laksmi will not visit with them, and therefore they will not receive the godess’ blessing.
This past month has been the muslims month of fasting (ramazan) and celebration (eid). A time of celebration, it seems!
We too should celebrate, every day (!), our King!

We are keeping busy and good! There is lots to do both in the work and at home.
Stephan is so much fun! He is learning a lot of new words, both in Hindi and English. Today we just had to laugh while giving him caugh-medicine (he really don't like that!). Sounded like he was crying his lounges out....and while taking a breath knowing a next dose was going to come, he managed to talk also : 'done-done' ... He is learning lots and we enjoy him so much!

We are still looking forward to moving into our new house, hopefully sometime soon!

We are in the process of starting up an advertising buisness.

FESTIVAL

These days there is a festival called Ganpati / Ganesha taking place. Ganesha is a manmade elephant God that people worship. In this season you can see elephant statues everywhere; big statues along the roads, in peoples houses, on the way to the temple people carry small ones in their hands going for ‘puja’ / worship-prayer, people travel far distances too with the statues as one man had chosen to bring a big one on the train. It might sound funny or extreme, but people are really passionate about this elephant God. They put garland around it’s neck and decorate beautifully for the festival. Please pray for revelation so that their eyes would open and their great passion would turn from Ganpati to be worshipping the One True God.
